The following data points are collected from prospective CHIPER applicants in order to ensure a diverse array of members:

Required attributes:

  • Willingness to serve on the Committee

  • High level of integrity

  • Commitment to continuous learning

  • Effective  committee contribution skills

  • Peer Review  Experience

Applicants are encouraged to identify their primary occupation in the following areas:

  • Pediatrics

  • Clinical trials

  • Oncology 

  • Radiology

  • Qualitative Research

  • General Medicine Clinician

  • Lawyer

  • Formal Ethicist

  • Clinical Psychologist

  • Surgeon

  • Population Health

  • Archivist

  • Community Member

Applicants are asked to identify membership in any of the following:

  • College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba

  • College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba

  • College of Pharmacists of Manitoba

  • Manitoba chapter of the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)

Applicants are asked to identify their Expertise in or Knowledge of, the following areas:

  • Administrative health data

  • The Personal Health Information Act

  • Manitoba Centre for Health Policy

  • Clinical Datasets

  •  Transferring data between institutions for research purposes

  • A willingness to learn

  • Indigenous research perspectives
